Have you ever been happily sipping on a delicious brew, only to see your intelligent dog watching you with those sad puppy eyes? You'd never give them human beer, of course, but you still want them to enjoy the delight of cracking open a cold one. Well, now that's actually possible.

According to The Statesman, Texas bar owners Megan and Steve Long wanted to create a product that combined their two favourite things, dogs and beer, and the result has been a huge success.

Good Boy Dog Beer offers the chance for you to never feel like you're drinking alone, even if you sort of are. Yes, it's definitely for dogs, and, don't worry, it doesn't actually have alcohol.

It all started when the Longs' Rottweiler started having digestive issues. Their vet suggested that they start making his food and treats at home. They began learning about which ingredients are good for dogs, like how turmeric helps their digestion and ginger is good for their fur, and soon a joke about creating beer spiralled into reality.

The first brew they made was the Mailman Malt Licker, which includes chicken, turmeric, ginger, oranges, carrots, basil, cilantro and fennel. They also now have two other flavours: IPA Lot in the Yard and Session.squirrel!

This isn't the first human-turned-dog food to hit the market—there are already strange products like Petchup and Muttstard—but it might be the most fun.

The American Pet Products Association reportedly estimates that pets in the US are a $72 billion business this year, and the industry has been on a steady incline.

While the idea of dog beer might seem like a joke, the Longs are about to make serious money.
