LIFESTYLE Getting older

If you are not all that thrilled at the prospect of getting older, you are not the only one. Well, guess what, getting older may not be that bad if you consider these crucial facts.

Research shows that more self-confidence and acceptance comes with age. People that are over sixty tend to be happier than people from a younger generation. Consider this when you blow out the candles on your next birthday cake.

You’ll only find out once you get there yourself, but these things might be the reason why you feel happier when you reach sixty.

Older people have better mental health
Research conducted over 1500 people from different ages, about physical, cognitive and mental health, has shown people between 20 and 30 years old tend to suffer from more stress and depression. Likely because once you are older you are more capable of putting things into perspective after all, wisdom comes with age right?

More stability
People over sixty tend to have more stable lives, offering peace of mind. You tend to have built stable relationships, fulfilled different job titles, settled down, if you have kids, you already taught them to take care of themselves and they have flown the nest.

Happiness has another meaning
For older people, happiness means being satisfied with what you have while younger people might experience happiness as a euphoric moment. According to this research reported by The Atlantic anyway.

Although we never know what to expect from life, this might change your perspective on aging in positive a way.
