CELEBRITY Entourage

When people think of Adrian Grenier it's usually for his role on the hit series 'Entourage,' or as the un-supportive boyfriend in 'The Devil Wears Prada.' But now Grenier has left the spotlight and joined the revolution.

Co-founding the Lonely Whale Foundation in 2015, Grenier has since focused his efforts on single-use plastic reduction and specifically on banning Starbucks straws.

In March, Grenier attended the company's shareholders meeting to present alternatives to the now infamous green straws. Starbucks recently announced their official plan to remove all straws from circulation by 2020.

“I’m very pleased… We’ve been working on this for a long time,” Grenier told Moneyish in a recent interview. “This took a little longer than I was hoping, but hey, better late than never," he added.

While taking down the world's largest coffee chain is certainly a feat to celebrate, Grenier is already looking to the future where his nonprofit will work to eliminate single-use straws from bars and restaurants across New York City.

Grenier continued, "and of course this isn’t going to solve the entire ocean plastics issue, but it’s certainly a big, giant baby step,” he said.
