It was discovered that Susan Atrach had access to Gomez's accounts between June 2015 and February 2016, and was sharing the star's private media online. Atrach alleges that she figured out the passwords purely based on information she discovered about Gomez through the internet. In addition, she asserts that none of the leaked material was sold for money.
However, reports from NME divulge that Atrach is facing charges including five counts of identity theft, five counts of accessing and using computer data to commit fraud, and one count of accessing computer data without permission.
If found guilty, Atrach could be sentenced to up to nine years in prison. Her official arraignment is set for August 27 and prosecutors have recommended her bail to be set for $250,000.
