Cardi B took her off-the-cusp humour too far with an offensive skit titled 'Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement.' How far is too far? The rapper personally apologized to Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter for making light of deep-rooted familial trauma.

In the skit that aired on TMZ, Cardi B portrays the wives of political activists including Coretta Scott King, Malcolm X’s wife Betty Shabazz, Jesse Jackson’s wife Jacqueline Brown, as well as, Rosa Parks. The rapper makes reference to Martin Luther King Jr.'s alleged extramarital affairs.

After the skit aired and received overwhelming backlash, Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter, Dr. Bernice King took to Twitter to share that Cardi B had apologized for the offensive clip.

She wrote, "Thank you, @iamcardib, for reaching out to me and apologizing for the skit that aired on @TMZ. I look forward to talking with you soon."

The skit aired Tuesday (Aug 28) as a part of TMZ's 'Wild 'N Out' segment.
