Just because you are a part of the British royal family, doesn't mean you are immune from fast-food cravings. Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell, revealed that the late-royal had a deep love for McDonald's golden arches.
Burrell said that a Saturday night at Buckingham Palace was surprisingly similar to those around the country. Diana would treat Princes William and Harry to fast-food and they would all watch reality TV as a family. “The three of them would nip to McDonald’s for a Big Mac and fries before coming back to watch ‘Blind Date,’ Burrell told The Mirror.
A former Palace chef, Darren McGrady has also discussed the royal family's love for McDonald's. In a 2017, interview with Marie Claire, he said, “I remember the Princess came into the kitchen one day and said, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s,’” McGrady revealed. “And I said, ‘Oh my God your royal highness, I can do that, I can do burgers.’"
Mcgrady continued to explain the hilarious encounter, "She said, ‘No, it’s the toy they want.’ Yeah, the boys loved McDonald’s, and going out [for] pizza and having potato skins —sort of the American foods. There were royal princes but had children’s palates.”
Perhaps, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have royal date nights in the drive-thru?
