CELEBRITY Eddie redmayne

Eddie Redmayne has quite literally rubbed shoulders with royals, and he's just opened up about what his school days with Prince William were really like.

The 36-year-old British Oscar winner appeared on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,' and a caller asked him about his time playing rugby with Prince William. Redmayne confessed, "I always felt a bit sorry for him because basically any school you played, all they wanted to do was tackle Prince William, and they could say, ‘I tackled Prince William.’" An enticing feat for many young men, surely.

He continued, "If you were standing next to Prince William, like I was, it was actually quite easy and quite fun.” So the Prince was essentially a dependable target that saved Redmayne from being tackled to the ground.

Redmayne, now a famous actor, was also asked if he'd been invited to Prince Harry's royal wedding, and he answered quickly, "No I wasn't. It's fine."

The 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' star also spilled about his experience in Windsor Castle when he received the OBE Award from Queen Elizabeth back in 2016, confessing that he felt like "a bit of a schmuck" when surrounded by extraordinary people, but that the music was actually the strangest part of all.

“It’s all royal and palatial, and there’s this string quartet playing music,” he explained. “And you think it’s classical music. And I suddenly heard them playing Coldplay. I think it was ‘When You Rule the World.’ And I was like, ‘That’s appropriate.’”

Safe to say the Queen likes Coldplay? We'll take it.
