Quaid rose to prominence in the 1980s, before succumbing to drug addition and an eating disorder, both of which he has since overcome. His career rebounded in the late 1990s, and he went on to star in notable films, including 'Traffic' and 'Far From Heaven,' which earned him a New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actor.
