CELEBRITY Paul mccartney

Paul and Linda McCartney were one of rock music's most-loved couples, despite some of the controversy that came along with marrying a Beatle. They met at the Bag O' Nails nightclub in London in May 1967, and they had instant chemistry. Paul has described her as very down to earth, which he said "helped him cope with his Beatles fame and live a normal life."

They married two years after they met in 1969, one year after they had started dating. Linda and her daughter Heather moved out to London to be with him.

Paul has described Linda as a calming force for him, but also an inspirational one. She was allegedly the one to pull him out of his funk when the The Beatles were breaking up, and he also dedicated the song 'Maybe I'm Amazed' off his solo album to her. They later created the band Wings together, and recorded several albums. They ended up as a successful band in the 1970s, winning two Grammys and being nominated a total four times.

However, their love story took a devastating turn in 1995. Linda McCartney was diagnosed with breast cancer, and it later moved to her liver. Despite a variety of treatments, she passed away at the age of 56 in 1998. She was survived by four children, Heather (who Paul later adopted), Mary, Stella, and James.

Throughout Paul and Linda's 29-year marriage, they were an important musical duo and an inspiration for partners everywhere. From fighting legal battles to firing out hits with Wings, the couple did (almost) everything together. Check out this gallery to see a timeline of Paul and Linda's loving relationship.
